Admin's Corner
Back to the issue about non-members posting to the forum, we should clear that up with the CC admin. Might be a bug.
being an IT, owing to your ID "mysql", I think you know better ... yes we have to get in touch with the CC Staff ...
Fellow admins, since we can delete the group notes, i set it back to Yes. Non-members can post.
The forums remains "No" to the public.
yes, I believe they can ban IPs depending on the nature of violation(s) ...
I would suggest, first refer to FAQs as maybe something of this nature is there ... else, contact the CC Staff ...
Fellow admins, any update about non-members posting in the forum? Who's following this up with the CC admin by the way?
Mysql, more or less anyone has access to our forums. All he's got to do is click "join this group" and he can read everything. Then if that person does not like to be a member anymore, all he's got to do is click "quit this group".
But wouldn't it be better if non-members can still read the forum? If they find our discussions interesting, then they might be inclined to join the group.
No. Only members can read. But there's no stopping non-members from being members. There's no more approval required to become a member. It's been set to automatic.
I'm interested in tracking the IP of the poster but can't find any options here.
Looks like this is restricted to chess.com admins/site owner only.

I'm not sure, but maybe ip is kept secret as part of the privacy rules of the site.
Sugardom, kidlat1994, pulsar, sir Danny, Sir Duque and other admins. what do you think should our rules be for the "Group Notes" section?
How strict should we be regarding the topics discussed in that section of this page? Should we allow free flowing conversation just like in Wesley's CG page? Or should conversations there always be on topic (about chess and Wesley)?
