Here you can post your work for the week and discuss endgames with those who are in a similar place that you are in their endgame studies.

I_Am_Second

Write out what you want you mindset at the beginning of the game to be and what your focus for the typical game is. How does it change once you get out of the opening? How does it change when you enter the endgame?

Generally my mindset is to have fun.  I know…that’s not taking the game serious.  My mind is calmer playing people rated higher than I am.  Since I don’t study openings (bores me to death) I look forward to getting to the middle game, and then the end game.  I start taking the game more seriously once I’m out of the opening.  Since I generally play up, and play against people rated 200-300+ points higher than me, I play well, and can compete, but because it takes me longer to see things in the middle game, by the time the endgame roles around I’m dealing with time pressure issues.  I have learned to cope with time pressure, and i dont let it rattle me like it used to.  I look froward to, and appreciate any all coments, as i will view this a definite step forward in my chess improvement.  If youre not willing to open yourelf up to scrutiny, youre progress will be slower IMO.
