The Above is apparently a fair copy of what Erik said probably less than 48 hours ago.
I will take it as such and comment,
This has been coming for a while. My attitude is quite straightforward. The way all this has happened has been pretty disgraceful. Anyone who has followed the whole thing has seen all sorts of things like the killing of threads, abuse for dissenters as old, as stupid, as resisting progress ETC ETC
OK. having said that, it is the way that most change happens in this old world today.
Faced with this reality, There is a choice. Walk away or stay.
If you say walk away, I understand, and it has been really great to know you.
Stay has two sub-choices, wait and see, or accept and try to do, and even cope with V3.
For anyone who wants to learn this V3 thing, how do we do it?
That is the point of my thread.
Let the discussion begin.
I may from time to time come up with my own suggestions.
We are working to add it back. It was not intentional. Should be fixed later today. That said, it certainly WILL be going away soon. I would recommend you start to spend some time on V3 to get to know it better. Everything takes a little time, and then you get used to it. I've been through 4-5 major changes on my iphone. And with Windows. And with my favorite running shoes. And learning to drive on the left hand side of the road (you guys are nuts!). After a while, you just get used to it and cannot imagine how it used to be. That said, I know the process isn't easy or fun for everyone. But this is how software works. The YouTube, Facebook, Google and every major site of today is not the same as it once was. And when they change, everyone is mad and says it is a step backwards. And then in a few days they are used to it. I'm not trying to sound uncaring - I care a lot! I'm just being realistic. We've kept V2 around for a VERY long time to try to make every last person possible happy, and have made a lot of changes to make V3 more like V2 in many ways. The last hurdle is that V3 does not perform as well on older computers (especially the people still using Windows XP!). We are working on speeding it up for older CPUs. Once that happens, we will finally retire V2. Just like we did with V1 long ago. I'm sorry for those who are frustrated by this. I truly am.
