Week 1 Day 1

I've got 5 daily games rolling.

I did the 5 puzzles and actually managed to pull my rating up a bit (10 points).

I did 1 15+10 game today and while I messed up the endgame, I did learn from that!

While I have played chess my whole life, I haven't ever really gotten good at it, or played it regularly, so hopefully this program changes that!

I'm technically a day early for my update post, but I thought it would be good to recap the week.

Daily games: 808 (-51). Lost one game, I attribute this loss to being out of practice and not taking time to think about moves.

Puzzles: 671 (+6) I tend to have an overall upward trend if I stick to the 5 puzzles a day, but the two days that I tried to do more than that, I dropped about 20-30 points.  I think this comes from the frustration of getting things wrong, and then trying to do more puzzles to compensate, which never turns out in my favor. tongue.png

Rapid: 698 (-117)  I'd say this large swing is from having very few games (13 total) so my rating is still normalizing here.  The one game I did win, I was able to recognize when my opponent left several pieces up for grabs and I took advantage. (https://www.chess.com/live/game/5427668477)

Blitz: 537 (+74) I really enjoy this format as it makes me think quickly but also focus on almost tactic-like choices that I make in the puzzles.

I looked at the rapid game you linked and you did a nice job capitalizing on your opponent's mistakes. I hope this week is going well for you.
