Alerts have been buggy for months on v3. I never trust those numbers. But, to see 51 ghost posts in a forum thread... that's new to me.
But, then again, I'm still mostly on v2.

i know, but the pages have been created to host the posts... i wondered if it was a case of me somehow not seeing the posts...
I had a similar phantom alert... also I get the impression that nobody on Staff cares or responds to these issues any longer.
As I mentioned in the Notes just now, I started in v3. Had a few Alert-bell alerts. Finished the last one, and decided to head back to the old ranch, v2. As soon as I got to the v2 landing page, a plethora of yellow-activity box action items (i.e., Group posts and such) filled my browser window.
How can the v3 alert system be so faulty??? So incredibly unreliable???
Erik, if you are reading this, this is one more reason why I cannot give up v2.
The yellow-activity box to the upper right is just far more convenient and reliable than what I've seen over the months with v3.
I got an alert that there were 51 new posts to this thread - https://www.chess.com/forum/view/suggestions/old-chesscom-version?newCommentCount=51&page=8
Click on the link, takes me to that page... seems the page has been truncated. Try the next page...
WTF? next page...
Have these 51 new posts been deleted or did they ever exist?
