Alt farming

I was wondering if there is any punishments for having an alt account in point-based games such as chaturaji, and instead of teaming the alt account gives free points to other players. 

that is basically teaming. of course is illegal and must be banned. even if you are not helping yourself is not legal to play a 4 player game using 2 accounts

you can have a second account if it approved by chess.com. they do ban people for multi-accounts. they are a plague because new accounts get more points per win. so they like to have a high rating with a low number of games played. plus they just like to hide who they really are. i hope this helps.

ok so you mean, not playing with 2 accounts at the same time, but just using a different account and play very bad, not helping some player specifically but everyone?

well why would somebody do that? if you play bad on purpouse you are still ruining the games. in my opinion they can't punish a player just because he is playing bad, but if he declarates explicitly somewhere that he is playing bad on purpouse that could be a reason for some punishment.

or if there are clear intentions of manipulate ratings (helping some specific player), that's illegal
