Am I allowed to create a chess.com bot?

Hey,

I'm working on a way to automate sub-battles between streamers. When the match begins, I want to create a challenge with the proper time/increment between the first two players in the bracket. When the match is over, I want to send a new challenge to the next players. I can't do this with the API.

If I create a bot to send the challenges, will it get banned? Is there a better way to do this?

Thanks

When you use the term "bot", people are going to think of software used to automatically play engine moves for cheating.  That's clearly not what you have in mind, but that term will cause confusion.

Currently, the API is read-only.  There's no way to automate matches like this.

Wasn't sure how to phrase it since its technically a bot. It would never play a game, but it would simulate clicks on the site adding friends / creating matches between them.

Without speaking of legality of such program... I didn't get, how it should work. From your account you can send challenges only to someone with whom you will play. There is no way, that you send a challenge for two players, who will play with each other. So do you want to create a program just for yourself? Or each of players taking part into the competition must install your program? Wouldn't it be just easier to explain players, which parameters they should use? happy.png

Hmm, I'm not sure how the chessbrahs do it then. Maybe its a club feature?

MGleason

The chessbrahs probably have staff tools.

Ah, where would I apply for those?
