Analysis in Daily games...

This is an ongoing game, so careful not to talk about the play...

I've reached this position in my game and naturally am using the analysis feature in the panel on the right hand side. It's a sharp position, so i want to look at several lines...

Unfortunately, there is very little space to list the moves of any variations i want to check out before playing my move. There is space only for 4 lines of moves, only 3 if i want to keep the moves already played in view. Space for just 8 moves...

Sure, i can resize the panel on the right hand side by resizing the board, but the board is already at a size that is comfortable to me...

This is a problem of the UI design.

In v2, the analysis page is a separate pop-up, giving the designers and the user a whole page to work with.  In v3, the designers kept everthing in a single page and put all the analysis stuff in to a condensed widget.

The results are plainly obvious.

We have new designs coming across the board for analysis that intends to heighten the readability. Our analysis is a pretty common complaint and I can't help but agree.

I will keep up dated on our progress here. We have a ticket in to make some small changes to the live analysis window now which doesn't do you any good in daily, but letting you know we are working on this area.

Definitely makes sense! How would you feel about us dropping the top/bottom player information from the UI here?

It seems to me that the bar at the top which says "Analysis", the tabs (moves/chat/info/notes) and the save button take up much more space than is necessary. Not sure there is any need at all for the ECO code and opening name...

Dropping the players' names might cause confusion, especially if the user inadvertently flips the board. Doing away with the players' avatars would save a little space though

It's too bad I don't have any saved v2 analysis screen shots saved anywhere.

I still do not care for v3 analysis at all.  It's too laborious and cumbersome compared to what v2 used to ship to players after compilation.
