Announcing the First Ever (2021) World 4 Player Speed Chess Championship! (W4SCC)

It's impossible for someone at my level to win a game because the higher rated players all collaborate to mate the worse players first. (and yes I know this is anonymous)

bazar-wokzal

thank you all, I am in the game

sorry, I accidentally joined the game, can I withdraw?

you won't qualify for 0 pts anyway

I'm not planning on playing 1|1 because my record looks horrible anyway. I play much better in faster time controls anyway. Guess I'll wait another week for 3/4 to start.

Although I think it is cool to have such a tournament, I think it would gain much greater interest to have more players qualified to the next round, rather than 4 out of 16 events. (8 out of 32)

Too many factors can affect the final results, such as: number of players attending, level of players attending. In one event, with high ranking players in the field, we will score 60 points. In another event, with less players and lower level, players will score 100+ points.

I believe the best way is to pick 16, or even 32 players out of 16 events ( 32 to 64 out of 32 events) rather than 4, then play an even amount of games between these players for a second round, call semi finals.

Finally, I would separate the 2 tournaments, one called Bullet, the other one called hyper bullet.

You have 16 events 1/1, with an average of 60 entries per event. This means 960 entries. Picking the top 4 is not much of a semi final, but rather the finals. Worse, you include a luck factor, because your top 4 might not be the best 4 players, but these that played the event with the lowest amount of top rated players.

Also, 3/4 / 0 is what I would call hyper bullet, and 1/1 bullet. Merging these two events into 1 doesn't make much sense. I would make 2 separate tournament, I would pick the top 32 players out of the 16 rounds of 1/1, and 32 players out of the 3/4 / 0, then make a few rounds of semi finals with 16 playing down to 4 players ( 2 opposite time clock) where players are playing the same amount of games in the semi finals, then make the final with the top 4 players out of 32 for each event.

I fully agree with MagicSteph, 3/4 - 0 is NOT really bullet, and there is a huge difference even between 1 - 0 and 1 - 1I, not to mention 3/4 - 0.

But now it's too late, it should've been discussed BEFOREHAND.

fully agree. Picking only 4 players its like a final itself

fourplayerchess

I just updated it

I know this topics had been brought up before, but the teaming really needs to be fixed. In like 1/4 of the games of the tournament I played, there were some people who teamed a lot. They used teams openings and eliminated players.

Fixed a typo for you.

I know in most cases it is cooperating. But in one game, one person could take another persons queen with his pawn, and he knew he could do it, but he did not take it. Then they both attacked me at once to checkmate me.

I can look for the game in my archive and post the link here if you want.

I noticed that too, but my "complaint" is the opposite haha. It's a little weird to play when only 1/4 of the games the opposite cooperates, but that's +1600
