Black to move, next move checkmate. It was the Demon bot. 

White had 5 gold, lets brainstorm how they could have escaped.

tbh, I don't actually think they could have escaped. 
This might have been a wombo combo of a setup. 
The move screenshotted below I think is what cost them the game.
I think the better move would have been to spawn an archer on E5 to attack the black queen

The trick to killing the demon bot is tempo. 
If you can gain tempo against the bot, then you just win.

Yes, when you buy an outpost, you must promote a pawn to spawn it. And yes, you can place one near the furthest board edge to basically get infinite pawn promotions.

It takes a lot of effort to setup, and is typically only useful for larger boards and higher player counts. Its definitely a late game strategy.
