Any ideas or advice for getting an editor?

After working on my novel for two months short of a year, I am ready to send it to an editor. The problem is, I have no clue how to get an editor. Any ideas or advice would be helpful. Thanks.

Check out the Writers and Artists Yearbook (I think that's the title). Your library may have a copy if it's a large library. There may well be an online source for it. Also check out Writing Magazine or Writers Forum (both UK magazines) there may be Peruvian equivalents.

Otherwise you could google 'editors' but you may get many who are only after your money. Be careful whatever you do.

Have you had anybody else read your novel? It may be an idea to get others' views on it. I would be willing though it may take me some time.

I went to reedsy and contacted eight different people about a week ago. I mentioned in my brief that my budget isn't the highest. Seven of those people declined; five because my budget is low. The other one still hasn't looked at my brief yet and the deadline is tomorrow. I have contacted some editors from a local writing group. Two of them gave promising sample edits and offer cheap prices. 

(And I'm Peruvian-American by the way. I live in Portland, Oregon.)
