force to self to wait a certain amount of time before making your move. Even if it's clean, and play more rapid. That helped me
Any ideas to not rush?

I would stick to rapid, Blitz is more time sensitive especially if you are not used to playing fast
Ok
👍

I’m used to Blitz @SWDNC68 but I’ll try it

I would say rushing comes from two things. Moving too fast and not moving fast enough. There is rushing when you dont look at thing deep enough you just instinctively make a move and maybe forget what time control you are playing. Sometimes you have anxiety about the clock. Sometimes you are excited and need to take a breath. Pick an average clock time per move before you start 5min is 300 seconds so 40 moves about 7 seconds a move. 3minute about 4.5 seconds, 15min rapid about 22.5 sec a move. Check for blunders, what you are attacking, who is attacking you etc. Try to save some time. The other reason you rush is you sit there thinking forever I do that a lot.. then realize that being said I am horrible with the clock so I played a bunch of bullet and blitz which I am horrible at to force myself to move quicker and watch the clock... 60% of losses on time at one point.. then I will go back to rapid.. I wish you luck in your journey.. PS I hate the chess.com clock I cant move it resize it, adjust noises to let me know it switched or change colors all the time or colors when it runs. --
I keep forgetting not to rush. Any ideas how not to do it?
