It depends on which kind of player you playing against. Sub 2000 any e6 variation is solid if >2200 depends on the opponent and your partners style. For example, you cant play aggressive opening (if sacking) with turtle defensive partner because pieces will not flow your way.
Any surprise bughouse theory?
e4 d5 exd5 e6
i hate it when my partners play it. i dont want to be a pawn down for no reason. and for the same reason i like it as white when my opp plays it. i have no problems playing it and will just cherish the free material while i dont find it problematic to play against

There's some opening theory that has been put into this book here. https://a.co/d/da0MhsF . It's fairly new book but has some great openings and bughouse concepts not often talked about.
With blach i play e4 e5 and the openings are bad because the pair of bthe black give pieces and he can defend

There's some lines that you can play as black and it doesnt get as dicey. I'd sugggest looking at the book (https://a.co/d/da0MhsF ) for some opening theory. I'd say with e4 e5, you have to be pretty precise
I know bughouse openings have probably been a frequent topic, but I was wondering if there were any surprise openings that I could use, specifically as black. I've played the e4 d5 e5 Nf6 systems, and a little bit of the firefly (a6 b5). Are there any other "solid" openings to play? Thx
