Don't hesitate to let me know if this is a stupid idea.
Anyone up for a correspondence game?
its not stupid but looks like none has unlimited text or (and) the guts to take you on over a cellphone

I play correspondence chess at 3 different sites. I play OTB seldom, but I try to enter a couple tournaments a year. I have email games on the go with John Elburg and Richard Moody -- both strong correspondence players. I even play postal games with a prisoner in Represa, Californaia. But I can't say I've ever tried chess via a cell phone.
For now, I'm declining to play because I pay for my texting, but I'll keep you in mind and pass on the message to other players.
For those with Unlimited Texting on your cell phones, we can get a correspondence game going through txt. My number is 6182145954. Simply send a text saying 1. e4 or whatever you choose, and I'll respond with my move 1. e4 c5 for example. Make sure to put all the moves up to that point in the text so we can replay them on a real board if we choose.
I figure this way is as good as any to play chess!
