Scores don't tell you how they play, losing in daily games take more score than give it when you win.

and their highest rating is their daily

My score dropped from 1409 to 879 only because my games got timed out on. That doesn't necessarily mean I play like an 879.

Your rating fluctuates ridiculously when you haven't played many games of a specific type; that's just how the system works. However, after 25-50 games or so, your rating is typically quite accurate to your skill.
