Are cheaters not banned from Variants?

It appears cheaters are not banned when cheating in Variants?

Specifically I'm talking about 3-Check, KOTH and other two-player variants.

I never experienced cheating in classic chess, which is fantastic. Unfortunately it seems Variants are excluded from all the fancy AI to detect cheating.

do we win money here? I don't think so.
why don't you just enjoy playing and accept some people play like machines...
block those players that annoy you, simple.

I don't mean strong players/GMs that play "like" machines. Those guys beat me every day and I don't mind that at all, I can learn something new along the way happy.png

What I'm talking about is obvious, blatant cheating. The type even the most basic AI would detect, like a low-rated player who suddenly has a 100% winrate, makes perfect moves only and thinks exactly constant time (i.e. the time it takes to copy the last move to a computer chess engine, get the move then execute it).

If you suspect someone is cheating in variants, you can still report them to the Variants admins, I believe. I’m pretty sure that people can be play-banned on the variants server but not chess.com as a whole if they are caught cheating at 3+ And such.

I'm into engine programming and many variants has either no engine developed or too weak to beat strong players.
Even if not the case, at fast time controls, say 5/3 incr, how can you cheat without losing too much time?
Duck Chess has not yet an engine so far, so does Fog of War.
Be cool and accept blatant players are just young pseudo robots ;-)

We don't have AI that can detect cheating over the whole server, however, we do have skilled admin who can identify cheating if it is shown to them (eg reports).

Cheating is especially predominant in some variants, those with engines publicly available in particular.

You may report directly to myself or another admin if you suspect cheating, but we prefer you use the report function within the server happy.png

Thank you for all the answers!

The player has been permabanned so all is well happy.png

(Note it was on the main server not on the Variants server)
