I accept. However, please warn us if it is not going to take place. I had freed myself for it.

It happened, I'm sorry for that, but I promise it's the first time and I hope it will also be the last one.

NEW DATE: September 10th, always at 4pm GMT.

Who is in ?? other than @peperudka871.

TheUltraTrap

Ill play i think

samuelebeckis

Okay @TheUltraTrap, and also @rune_raider said the thing is cool, so 3 are in likely.

Blitz 3'|3'' will be the 'probable' time control.

samuelebeckis

Any other ?

TheUltraTrap

5+3 maybe?

Yes, why not.

Generally speaking I'm favourable to longer time controls, but also I want the tournament to last in about 2 hours. Here with only 3 subscribers of course we can do 5+3 double round-robin. If others will add then maybe 5+3 single round-robin.

Anyway I'm sending out some invite by private messages, to see if we can get some more participants, so things can still change.

samuelebeckis

I forgot to mention, also ChessStakhanov is in, so with 4 participant we can run a 5+3 double round-robin of 6 rounds, one game every 20 minutes.

So the participants are:

  • @peperudka871
  • @TheUltraTrap
  • @rune_raider
  • @ChessStakhanov

I'm preparing the schedule with the list of the games. Work in progress... You'll receive a private message with the list of your opponents as soon as ready.

TheUltraTrap

is this going to happen? I just want a confirmation

samuelebeckis

Yes it is.

samuelebeckis

rune_rider cannot participate, any other wants ?

Otherwise I will myself. Just to keep an even numbers of players, I'm not a fan of blitz games. Btw 5+3 is playable, so I'm adding my name to the list, but I'm happy to withdraw if anyone wants to replace me.

-- Instructions for those participating in the tournament --

The tournament will start at 4:00 pm GMT.

You will be given a list with the names of the players that you will have to challenge in the predetermined order, one in each round.

Time control is 5 | 3 and matches are expected to last approximately 20 minutes each. Absences or delays over 7 minutes are counted as game losses, without loss of rating though. If a match lasts a little longer is not a problem, your delay is justified in that case, specifically when your previous game ended in 120 or more moves. The assignment of White and Black is random.

How to challenge opponents:

-- If your opponent is on your friends list you can easily challenge him, remembering to set the time control to 5 | 3 . If he challenges you first, then you simply accept the challenge and start playing.

-- If your opponent is not in your friends list then you can still invite him, first check if he has already created the game with the correct time control, otherwise you create the game and wait for him to enter.

-- If the time control is not correct or the opponent is not the one foreseen for that round then you leave the game.
