This is my latest game from the study buddy group tourney. I was fortunate enough to get in amongst his King quite early, and that gave me a good advantage. As the game continued, a bizarre situation developed where two knights and a rook contained two rooks and a queen.

Hi everyone.
I've managed to hit the dizzy heights of 1700+!
I've managed to do this by:
1. Putting a lot more thought into my moves.
2. Keeping the number of games in progress limited to a max. of ~10. I've stopped entering tournaments, and focusing more on Internationals, and group matches.
3. Continuing to use the "computer workout" facility on chess.com
Here is probably my best victory since coming to this site:
I've also been working hard at my kings pawn openings - I always tend to lose the centre for some reason.

Hi folks. Inserted is a typical game of mine. By move 23, I'm in front by a rook. However, I always seem to be at a loss as to how to press home my advantage. Sometimes when I do become gungh- it turns sour. Any strategys on how to break opponents down? For example:
A rook up - should you double up rooks on an open file?
Any thoughts would be kindly appreciated.
Avie.
