where is the board ...

@downtown65 - if you mean to post games it's the leftmost button on the reply box.
I was thinking about the transition point. I think we've all seen games that last only a few moves. My understanding was that endgame ends with a checkmate, draw, or resignation. Until now. I was just thinking about the stages of the game and remembered games where multiple promotions happened. If the king becomes inactive again due to such a situation do we see a game go opening, midgame 1, endgame 1, midgame 2, endgame 2? Basically when the goals change can the game state revert as well as progress?

No because the king in that situation has an open board and is only inactive because the ooponent is forcing it. If a second promotion happens its usually on a mostly cleared board so what may happen is you go from a king pawn endgame into a king queen endgame and then back and forth a couple times. Each time though its still endgame. So it could be fair to say there is a possibility of endgame 1 endgame 2 and endgame three, but really what your doing is changing the type of endgame rather than the stage of the game.
Here you can post your work for the week and discuss endgames with those who are in a similar place that you are in their endgame studies.
