i dont think all of us are noobs at chess 

but 

-never open your knight pawn because a bishop can easily take your rook

-if someones trying to do the 4 move mate move your knight up to your bishop pawn

-never move your valuable piece far away from the column of where your king is; someone can pin you with a bishop queen or a rook thats the pin

if your really wanting to play with knight pawn first id really reccomend to move your king pawn to e4 first

or 

you can do this method to keep your king and rook safe
