Hi, group! I'm starting a new thread to discuss Bhagavad-Gita, if you're interested. There is another thread which contains the text of Bhagavad-Gita, but it's a lot easier to read on its own website or in book form. In this thread I'd just like to talk about it and maybe learn from another student of it.

So, if you have some experience with the text, would you like to share your thoughts and knowledge on it some?

This Great Comversation took place before the Battle of Kurukshetra. Krishna chose to spoke the Gita before the WAR which killed millions. The Gita is 700 verses long only but iIt contain an ocean of wisdom.

That's true. When Arjuna was shown the universal form of the Lord, he saw many warriors from both sides of the battle basically marching to their deaths. God had decided that many people should be killed in that battle, so Arjuna was called upon to perform his duty as a warrior and fight with zeal.

Krishna promised he won't engage in warfare during the war. Still the Pandavas won despite the Kurus having Bhisma, Drona, Kripa, Karna, Asvattama who are experts in Celestial Weapons. One reason the Pandavas won... Krishna is on their side.

I think the verse that I remember best is in the Fourth Chapter, v. 8 I think, where Krishna says that for the deliverance of the devotees and for the annihilation of the miscreants he incarnates himself in every millennium. Do you have a favorite saying from it, or one that you remember most often?

I love Krishnas decoration of Supremacy. He declared those who worship other gods are indirectly worshipping Him.

So true... this is a little off topic, but have you ever read the Qur'an? One of the greatest offenses for a Muslim is to set up partners to God. The so-called "partners" that they worship instead of God will not be able to save them on the day of judgement. So similar to the doctrine surrounding Krishna. He is the greatest and only Supreme among deities. All other deities and their followers have limited lifespans, but Krishna's life and the life of His devotees is eternal, full of knowledge and bliss.

You can invite Yigor on my friends list. According to Shao, he likes Krishna.

I've seen his profile, and wanted to ask him about his mathematical papers, but they're way beyond what I can understand...
