My favorite openings for black or defenses are the Sicilian for e-4 and when I feel brave, the Ruy lopez.
For d pawn openings I like the Queen's Gambit Declined or an opening with the K-fianchetto like the Grunfeld.

I made up my own variation of the King's indian defence I think it's pretty good.
start with: E6, Ne7, d6, Nc6, g6, bg7, 0-0, h5
the most likely following moves are: b6, a5, ba6, qc8
but normally I don't get to qc8 because someone does something else

Your hypermodern opening sounds like it could be work well in some cases, but I would be a little worried about becoming too cramped as white dominates control of the center.
(although I cannot say anything at this point) I see you do have a game started with your opening and I will be interested in seeing how it plays out.
