Yeah, the sounds aren't enough, I agree. That would be a really nice addition to implement.

Which browsers are you using? Because I'm in Chrome, and I get a notification on my mac when the game starts! You should too.....? https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/3220216?hl=en

Chrome, latest version (auto-update). Plugins: Ghostery, DuckDuckGo. HW/OS: Mac, latest updates.
No, I don't get updates. The browser tab doesn't flash. No sound. (I can enable sound, but I would also prefer a visual notification.)
Per ChessMN16's note -- I am not Incogneto. (But, the Ghostery plugin may interfere with secondary service notifications.)
I can try FireFox, Safari, and possibly Opera if that helps. (But have sworn-off all Micro$uck products after the WinX fiasco.)
Thanks.
hey @cwfrank , try in your settings? http://i.imgur.com/JF5vEFn.png you may have previously blocked chess.com!

Hey @erik -- I have "Do not allow any site..." set.
Added "chess.com" ".chess.com" and "live.chess.com" to the list of exceptions.
Are there any more (sub-)domains that belong in that list?
I have not previous blocked chess.com (considering I'm a regular, active user, that would be absurd).
When my browser receives a standard correspondence chess update -- the browser tab starts blinking to let me know "YOUR MOVE!" -- That's standard day-to-day correspondence chess, instead of live chess.
On the other hand, with live chess, and especially with bughouse being new and not having a lot of players yet, seeks can take some time. Sit and stare at my screen for 5 minutes, waiting, look away for a moment, game has started, and time-out to start playing has passed. And I have to start-over. (Not to mention the classic live chess interface would ding you with a warning about "fair play" policies if this happened too often. So now we have to worry about those kind of rate limits despite waiting for 5+ minutes, or longer, for a game to start if we turn away, blink, look away, etc.)
So, pretty much, you sit and stare and wait (sometimes for a very long time), else if you blink or doze-off while waiting, there's no notification. No blinking tab, etc... even though "live" chess sounds like it should alert players more rapidly than standard day-to-day correspondence chess.
