Now that the first online Championship is over, I thought we might analyse our favourite games, so here's my attempt.

Good analysis Rekorts, great point on move 11 about the b file completely overlooked that.  Move 9 you said black plans 0-0-0, actually although i did castle queen my plan at that stage was to keep my options open as we had played this position over the board a few times were i had come unstuck by castleing kside when keith castled qside i wanted to try and leave the ball in his court and hoped he would castle qside and i would follow, i didnt fancy "the battle" move12 bd5 was a blunder by me overlooked again but it turns out the compensation was enough(luckily) after the bishop sac i was just trying to create a repetition and try and get out with a draw. Move 24Rd7 you said not so bad to take the g pawn i disagree here because the file has been opened for no reason while my king position is crumbeling around me, my only choice was to try and open that file and it was done for me, i take on your point about getting compensation for the queen however at this point i think it becomes very unclear. but what do i know?

great feedback thanks a lot

Hi Daz, when Keith played 25Qxg7, I was shocked. I sent him a note saying Qxg7???

When I actually looked at the move , I saw that after 27 Rae1 Rdg8 28 Rxe7 Rxg7 29 Rxg7!!! white has rook 2bishops & a pawn, plus the attack.... c6! will open white up. After Keith had wiped the floor with me, I was suprised he suddenly played so passively.

Sorry c6 will open BLACK up

After 21..... Rd6 I think white has to play 22 Be5 and get rook for the queen, otherwise black gets the queen for the bishop.
