Board experience

Really enjoying the board! Love it. Looking forward to a few updates I’ve seen on the roadmap e.g. OTB clocks, more time controls when initiating OTB on chess.com. Unsure what AI strength (1-12) means OTB vs initiating an AI game in the app- helpful you can see bot ELO here.

I’m initiating almost everything via the app as a result of the above points.

One thing I can’t figure out how to do and would love to do is balancing an OTB 2-player offline. E.g. starting 2 rooks down against a lower rated opponent. Any pointers on that from anyone would be appreciated.

Tried doing hints post move by toggling in app settings, works well. Would be good to have the option to have post hints on for one side, pre move hints for the other.

So about custom layouts on 2 players:

the menu is incomplete for board editor. You can set up the board however you want, e.g. without the rooks, then start a game through board editor, and, though the ai will still make a move no matter what at the moment, you can do a move other than the move the ai decides. Temporary and very frail solution, but I guess it works 😭

The boardeditor flow will be expanded in a future release. Normally Februari I believe. When that comes live you will be able to set any position and play that out via the option play on against AI or 2 player mode.

But you have to be a bit patient, it is commoning.
