The Bible.  I read a lot of books, but I don't believe I have read one about faith other than missionary stories.  Sorry, the Bible is my only suggestion.

I did read '90 minutes in Heaven',  true or not it is a beautiful story that sounds like it could be true.  I see no contradictions with the Bible in it.  My only reservation is that Paul said that words were heard that were unspeakable and not lawful for man to utter.  (II Corithians 12:4).  However, the book does not seem to get to the throne to hear those words.  Only departed friends and family that are saints (saved) are seen before he is revived.

The 'Sword of the Lord' Publishers has a web site and offer many biographies of men of great faith.

Many thanks. On reflection it was a rather ironic question, as the bible (The Bible?) is so well known for such a purpose.

I was handed a Gideons New Testament, and not wanting to offend the person who gave it to me, I took it, planning to throw it away later on when that person was no longer around. I was also given a King James Bible as a wedding present that I wanted to burn but my wife would not allow me to do so. These two books were the only two books that bought me to faith. The word of God can't be bypassed. It is the most powerful thing we as Christians have. Combine it with prayer for the person you are sharing it with and The word of God will take seed in even the hardest of places.
