The opening is the English Opening: Anglo-Indian Defense, Hedgehog System.if 3.e4 is lead to Flohr-Mikenas Attack.

1.c4  Nf6  2.Nc3  e6  3.d4

I think 3....d5  4.e3

yoff

Ok, I will have a go :-) ...Bb4 Bg5

ADK

3... g6 4. g3 to fianchetto the Bishop.

ADK

 3....Bb4  4.e3  0-0

( note: I am not gonna go into too deep in the opening but we will do a deeper analysis in the midgame, ok ? Wink but don't mind talking about the opening though )

my thought for the 5th move; 5.Nf3 d5  6.a3 Bxc3+ or  Ba5

kco

  5.Bd3  d5

Bd3 should have thought that, to keep an eye on the e4 square.

 6.b3 or Nge2

kco

  6.a3   dxc4

after 6.a3  why couldn't black retreat the bishop or attack the knight ?

  after dxc4  7.axb4  cxd3  8.Qxd3  Nc6  9.Ra4

kco

couldn't anyone guess what happen next ? give us an example how the game could continue with a few lines.

yoff

How about Bxc4...Bxc3 bxc3...Ne4 Qd3...f5 ?

kco

  7.Bxc4  Bd6

I think white will continue to develope  8.Nf3  Nc6  9.0-0

kco

why did black retreat to d6 ?

kco

 8.Nf3  Nc6  9.Nb5  e5

got the 8th move correctly, what do you think white and black is trying to do ?

any ideas for next few moves ?

snefruChess

Black is trying to break open the centre before white can castle, white is probably hoping the bishop pair will retain a small advantage in a open position. I'm guessing 10. Nxd6 Qxd6 11. 0-0 where black can either leave white with an isolated d-pawn or try and close the position with 11...exd4 or 11...e4.

10. 0-0?! e4! and black gets a strong attack.

let see if you are right jokernTP

  10.Nxd6  Qxd6  11.dxe5  Qxd1+  12.Kxd1
   Ng4

kco

I think   13.Ke2  Ngxe5  14.Nxe5  Nxe5  16.Bb3   Bf5

snefruChess

hard to match the masters in positions like this. I guess 13. Ke2 Ngxe5 14. Bd5 the bishop must be active and I think it should be on the a8-h1 diagonal for now. I havn't analyzed any lines deeper than a couple of moves though, but after Bd5 black can't develop his bishop as easily.

kco

let see.. 13.Ke2  Ncxe5 (keeping the two knights in central is a good idea) 14.Bd5  (u r right jokerTP)c6

now where the bishop could go ?

snefruChess

It's hard but I'll give it a go. 15. Be4 Be6 16. Nd2 intending b3 and Bb2 if black allows it. If white can complete his development in that fashion he is slightly better.

kco

  15.Be4  Be6  16.Nd2  Rad8

so jokernTP (or anyone) do you think the knight will continue to b3 ? how could have black improve ?

snefruChess

I meant pawn to b3 not the knight. 17. b3 18. Ra2 looks plausible depending on blacks move. 18. Bb2 looks risky in view of 18...Nxf2. I'm thinking 17. b3 Rd7 18. h3 Nf6 19. Bc2.

kco

  17.h3  Nf6  18.Bc2  Rc7  preparing to double it rooks on the d-files
