Tried it.  It "worked" for Tactics even with Firefox in private browsing mode.
Still got the sound problem of course.
And that - even after updating all drivers with Driver Booster.
And also updating AMD drivers too.  Which Driver Booster does not do.
Next is to see how the extension works out in Live Chess games.

Uh oh - previous comment didn't delete completely - like in V2!  happy.png

Should it be necessary to have to use browser extensions to facilitate usability?

I'm not sure what the browser extension is supposed to do exactly.
Or rather - I haven't the foggiest what it does or is supposed to do.  happy.png
But I am sure its not there for nothing!
It says "customize".  I have it installed.  But Customize what?

Yes - I did click on the "check out" button on the extension webpage ...
No help there.
Maybe erik will inform us further.

Time for an update.
I tried the chess.com browser extension on my Chrome-based browser.
Which is Vivaldi.
And its very very valuable.  Because now I can read forums on green panels -
instead of scratchy-white ones.
And I chose the green color.  I can have any color it seems.
Works in the Forums.  But has limitations.
I'm still having to type on scratch-white.
And the extension doesn't work well in V3 Tactics.
And not at all in Live Chess.

Regarding whether it "should be necessary" or "needed" -
I don't think that's the key point.  Which is that its available.
More options for members = better chess.com experience.

That's a preference.  Preferences can be distinguished from cares and worries and concerns -
and "frustrations".   I regard caring as erik's department.  He has control of the server - not I.
As for the other "reactions" well those are also options.  But I prefer - to prefer.
