that's because someone sent you a friend request or a club challenge was sent, there is a small notification box in the lower right corner where those buttons are located. If you clear notifications or accept the requests it should go away, I don't think it's 4pc related though
Bug in 4PC watch are when joining games

Here's a bug that seems to come and go for me. When it happens it's annoying and it continues irrespective of which browser I'm using, or if I exit and restart my browser, so I presume it's a problem on the server.
When in the "Watch" area of 4PC I'll click on a game and, if I'm eligible to play, I get a "Play" button and an "Exit" button at the bottom of the right hand column.
If I click on either of these menus I am taken to some player's profile. It is generally a player I know, and sometimes is someone offering to friend. On a given day it's always the same player, and it happens EVERY time I click down there. On some days when this starts happening I'll hit Play and in addition to having that game added to my pending challenges I'm taken to the other player's profile. On other days it will not be added to my pending challenges, and the only way I can join games is in the Play or Lobby areas.
Two days ago it was doing this, for about half a day, and an additional behaviour (which I'm unsure was part of the same bug or something else) my pending challenges would randomly disappear.
Today it's behaving properly.
