Yesterday, there was a period of about 40 minutes where the database that backs the public API would sometimes error and then cache that response. Typically, if there is an error (about 1 request in 1,000,000 does), the error is ignored and a retry fixes it. I expect that your request was victim to this issue.

I had tried a few times and got the same result. It is working now so temp glitch likely explanation.
