Bug Reports
4 player FFA - Player claims win wen there is still a lot of material on the board... I dont get it.... is this allowed?? or is it a bug?? There is definitely wining chances for both sides on this game... Im almost positive I would have won this specific game
https://www.chess.com/variants/4-player-chess/game/27170562/108/3
Also in 4 player FFA or teams - many times wen I go back a move to double check what my opponents just played the server suddenly breaks down and I have to reload the page (in many cases I loose because the server doesn't reconnect fast enough)
Thanks
4PC is winning by points, not by last player standing.
As far as I know you can only claim the win wen there is no chance for the loosing player to catch up. Or else its just completely unfair...
Check out the game in the link... He had more points but I could have won that game and probably would have won it.
wow you really havent played much 4pc before...
Very constructive and intelligent feedback... you must be a chess genius...
Ohh wait you are 900 level, Your comment starts to make sense...

first time that's happened. Though not the first time the rating changes thing hasn't shown up automatically. Also slow to connect to get to the server. Not a big deal, but I don't know if this is on your radar
eta:i was up by twenty and the game autoclaimed win, tying 2nd and third
Thanks!

I won the game when it was played. The UI announced "Threefold Repetition 1/2-1/2," and awarded the remaining points, but there was no game-end screen, and no rating changes took place.
Obviously, I'm upset that I didn't get my rating points. I'm not here to just play casual games. I need to be able to trust that my efforts will be rewarded in order to play competitively -- that's the same reason I'm not playing hyperbullet now. When I know I'll be able to play a fair game which follows the rules and systems it's supposed to without losses of connectivity nor 35-minute games being erased from existence completely then I'll resume playing. Until then, my patience is being strained.
Get some additional coders to investigate the issue. Get some server diagnosticians. Get the resources you need to fix the problem, and fix it. Running around trying to adjust scoring algorithms, tweak UIs, hunt down cheaters, change gamerules, etc. are all long-term goals. All moot points if the game doesn't follow the current ruleset and code as prescribed by the coders. Prioritise.
Here's how autoclaim works. It's triggered in 1v1 stage when a certain player has a significant lead (in points) high enough where even if a player with less points would take all the pieces from the winning side (player with the points lead) and checkmate him (+20) in a scenario where a clearly obvious winning position is reached by one player over another (in points) where they can claim win, but for some reason they don't, I mean...I actually explained the autoresign where the 100% losing player autoresigns on the other hand the autoclaim is very similar, just with different purpose. Autoclaim is really important because it prevents in the 1v1 stage the winning player to gift the other player 2nd place due to fair play/good sportsmanship type of play where as soon as entering the 1v1 phase if a winning player has reached enough points to claim the win AND it's the case where after the winning player would claim the win, the losing player would end up 3rd, the autoclaim triggers. In your case, it's also triggered instantly because the losing player did not surpass 3rd place, so it makes it a tie, 2nd 3rd because even with taking one pawn it's considered as "gifting 2nd place" so it's all there to prevent these type of things WHEN POSSIBLE. Not always...

Thats what I though as well, but in this game he won with 7 point lead and he still had 22 points on the board. I am pretty sure I would win, I had a big advantage in general. Thats why I think it was unfair...
No player should be able to claim a win wen there are still chances for both players to win the game.

I have one in my archive also, not gonna bother repeating the above but aye, different game identical problem.
Well red got blue rook and a checkmate on blue which is +25 in one move, that's not even a bug. You checked blue, blue had to move the king, couldn't block, blue king had only one square he can go to which is b4, so red, by taking that blue rook he also got a checkmate on blue because he covered the remaining squares (the only squares left) the blue king could go to which resulted in checkmate.
I just wanted to add to my previous comment that if there's a 1v1 and the losing player has only a king left, even if the winning player resigns, the losing player only gets a draw because of the insufficient material and never a full win. If there's a 1v1 and a DKW (dead king walking) then the resignation by a winning player (where the losing player has only a king (where he cannot win, only draw the game at best)) it's a +30 +10 situation where the losing player gets +20 for the DKW and +10 each, because the losing player has only a king left so it's a draw (insufficient material in this case)

I know, I didn't see it would be checkmate for red... but even after that... game ended 55 to 48. I got 20 points from auto claim...
so before the auto-claim it was 55 to 28.
He still had 22 points of material...
Which means I could have still made 22 points plus 20 if I checkmated him and took all his pieces. 28 + 22 + 20 = 70. I could have ended the game with 70 points.
He was allowed to auto claim having 55 points... The game was not over yet...
The autoclaim has never taken into account the material value, it only counts the value of the Kings remaining.

Yeahh, just saying that is completely unfair. If the game is about points, it shouldn't be like this! I hope they change this on the future...

I keep telling people, if you don't like the server either bribe the admins with cookies or make your own server

This game has still not ended. It recognizes Old Standard self-partner rated as Standard Teams casual no en passant (???) in custom... I have a button invite At_d0sA_fNLt_Laris to invite myself into a teams game during a game that is "live"
