There is a very odd bug, in which custom board sizes have a hard time determining ranks.
For example, this NCV test game I played:

In order to make pawns promote on the 7th rank, I had to set the gamerules to promote on the 9th rank. In order for it to promote on the 10th rank, I have to set it for the 12th rank (even though there are only 10 ranks on the board). I believe this has to do with the fact that rank 1 is labeled "3" for some reason.
Additionally, if I set the pawn home rank to 2, it places it on the 3rd rank for some reason. I have to set the home rank to 1 in order for the second rank to be the home.
This happens on both an 8x10 and a 10x10 board.

Hello, you know that when I saw this board, this immediately came to mind:
What if the pawns could advance both linearly, diagonally and laterally freely at all events and not just when capturing?
Since, since those stone walls exist, we should have more efficient soldiers. even if they could jump like knight, it would be a kind of "parkour soldiers" ![]()
it's just a suggestion, let's remember that in "Petrified" they can already be moved laterally.

Actually, I have “Sideways” turned on, so pawns can also move laterally without capturing. That’s part of what makes the variant work. Thanks for the suggestion!
Unfortunately we don't have labelling of ranks and coordinates yet for anything other than 8x8, so unless it's 8x8 then ranks and coordinates shown will always be based on 14x14.

I'm fairly certain that the server only shows you casual games... and doesn't join you into them either?

I have a question how is this Self-checks? I can't see his king...no pawn can check his king..
I'm not sure about that @ayayayanoted, because green cannot capture blue's pieces, as blue is immune. Granted one could argue that immune zombies should not be check-able in general, but I guess that's more of a fun rule, immune zombies need a weakness, they can be checkmated, or they can run out of lives in n-check.

I found that in racing kings it's possible to castle even if the castling puts an enemy king in check, but it should not be possible to check an enemy king in racing kings.

Blue is in double check (green wildebeest in the center, which is covered so can't be captured)

Fixed for next update: Checkers won't check other zombies.

But shouldn't the general be out of check after blocking the check?
