List of known bugs:

Decreasing maximum size after round one - See 2 - Group size

There is a bug that resets the max group size for the current round of a tournament to the largest group in the prior round.

http://www.chess.com/tournaments/pairings.html?id=30495&round=3

The nominal size set by the Tournament Director was six.

The largest group in round 2 was five.

Six players advanced to round 3.

There should be a group of six players, instead there are two groups of three players.

Account closed: Who gets the medal? - See 4 - Advance per Group

There is a bug in awarding medals. The site attempts to bypass the closed account.

Display of pairings indicates second place gets gold  http://www.chess.com/tournaments/pairings.html?id=28579&round=1

Actual result: Removed player gets gold  http://www.chess.com/tournament/the-prestige-tournamant-2011

Maximum number of member tournaments allowed - See 18 - This is an Invite Only tournament

Basic members are allowed to register in one member-created tournament at a time.

Either through a bug or design, a basic member can register in another member-created tournament if between rounds of a tournament. Given the possible long periods between completing all their games and the completion of the last game of a round, a basic member might even be in more than two member-created tournaments at the same time.

This is not such a big exploit for Gold members since most people are not able to keep up with more than 10 tournaments. Of course this does not impact Diamond nor Platinum members.

Note: When a premium member does not renew their premium membership, they are not removed from tournaments.

Tournament Points awarded to tied players - Added 2012 01 29

When two players tie for first, the expectation would be they each receive a share of half of (first place plus second place) points.

Instead they both receive first place points.

http://www.chess.com/tournament/14th-chesscom-quick-knockouts-2001-2200

- First place is worth 198. Second place is worth 99.

- Each of the two players tied for first received 198 points.

Here three players tied for first and received 3 * 200 = 600 points of the 400 available.
