c3 Sicilian Video Series

Hey guys! So I'm thinking about doing a video series on my youtube channel (*shameless plug*) detailing a repertoire for White against the Sicilian, based of course, on everyone's favourite (Canadian spelling! Laughing) Anti, the Alapin!

This is a rough outline of what would be in it, and I was wondered if anyone had any feedback/suggestions/complaints/informal protests/etc.

 Part I : 2...d5

Chapter 1 - 5...e6 6 a3

Chapter 2 - ...Bg4 lines where White plays Be2

Chapter 3 - ...Bg4 lines where White plays dxc5

Chapter 4 - Other stuff (like 4...g6, ...e5 lines, etc.)

Part II : 2...Nf6

Chapter 5 - Main line with 6 cxd4 d6 7 Bc4 Nb6 8 bB5

Chapter 6 - Main line with 6 Bc4!?

Chapter 7 - Black plays ...e6

Part III : Other Stuff

Chapter 8 - Other Stuff (2...e6, 2...d6, 2...g6, etc.)

This is just something I put together quickly so there's probably stuff missing. The idea in the lines where I give multiple options is something like to have a simpler line for starting out with c3 and eventually "upgrading" to a more complex line (or sticking with the simpler line if it suits you)

Yeah, I like that idea about the transpositions. What do you mean by a "double video" excatly?

I watched many videos, and personally, one thing I miss, is a recap slide showing the lines discussed.

I think there should be quite a lot of attention on the 'Other Stuff'. In my short alalpin career I have never met anything else as Sicilian players seem to default into their main lines anyway. I played a 2000 player OTB last year and I played the alapin and he played 2...e6. I almost held out for a draw. After the game the club captain, who also plays the alapin, suggested that after 1 e4 c5 2 c3 e6 3 d4 d5 I should enter the mainline French Advance with 4 e5 and take him out of his comfort zone.

That's a good approach...as long as it doesn't take you out of your own comfort zone. Usually I play 4 Nd2 transposing into the Tarrasch French, but for the series I'll recommend 4 exd5 exd5 5 Be3.
