Thanks for the explanation! I will admit, the Trinity makes about zero sense to me. Same with the 100% God, 100% man Jesus idea.

Trust me, I have now clue how a lot of what God does works. God never beginning, the virgin conception, predestination, Christ's full divinity and humanity, and the Trinity are all impossible for our mortal minds to grasp. But that's why we serve the Lord, because he IS immortal, infinite, and all-knowing, so I don't have to worry about understanding the Trinity, because I know it's not my knowledge or works that save me, it's Jesus!

I disagree that he descended into hell, and you already know i don't believe in the catholic church.

But aside from these it is an accurate statement of Christian faith

I don't believe he descended into hell, but I do think he preached to the dead, which may be what that refers to

Since "catholic" is not capitalised, it is probably used in the original meaning "worldwide" (as in all nations, kindreds and tongues, not universalist)

Agreed, except I do think that is what “preaching to the spirits in bondage” refers to. Remember that hell/Sheol often referred to the place of the dead more generally. Who knows what all Jesus did down there!

I have no problem with that idea, and yeah, we can only speculate as to what that means. But i do not believe that he had to suffer in hell for three days or that he "wrestled the devil for the keys to hell" Or the like
