Nice game. Very straight-forward analysis. This has made me much more interested in the Caro. I've never played it, though. I heard that some variations can be extraordinarily complex.
Caro Kann defense game

I'm already working on another one in a similar variation between Anand (white) and Khalifman (black) where white wins. I think that game is a little more interesting because in this game white sort of cracked his own position to be aggressive while if he played Rad1 instead of c4 the game would be about equal, though the pawn structures would still be different. Still, black played well to take advantage of it. Now I'm starting to think white should have played 18 Nde5 to avoid ...Ba6. If ...Bb7 white might consider Nd4 ( to avoid a trade). So far I found a pretty sharp line black can choose (a strong pawn sac I found), even though it's normally a solid line.

The caro kann is known for solidity and in this game black played well and did what he usually does: he accumulates advantages (that can often be used in an endgame) and takes advantage if white tries to force the issue with a dubious move. White slowly cracks and makes weaknesses while black was always improving his position.
