I played against this 1100-rated player who got an accuracy of 94.2%! Is this person cheating? Should I report them? Chess.com thought they were 1850, and I was 1500.

Yes, I made a few mistakes but this guy didn't make a single one!

Take a look at this match and let me know what you think happy.png

It looks like he was cheating but also, the other guy made some stupid mistakes for his level of ELO

Yeah, I know it. I think that this game the elo has to be reversed.

@ChessKy538 Why not give him the benefit of the doubt for the moment, and play him a few more times, to see if anything changes? I mean, I'm not seeing any super-genius moves here, and the position was never particularly complicated. Try playing him differently each time - like different openings, or going for more complicated positions (if you are a weaker player than your opponent, this can actually give you better chances - yes you might lose anyway, but at least this way there is a chance your opponent overlooks your trap or awesome combination), etc.

Public accusations are not permitted. If you have reason to think an opponent might have been cheating just report them and let the fair play team investigate.

A high accuracy score or high rating estimate from the analyser does not necessarily mean cheating. Anyone who plays a lot of games will eventually have some games where they get very good numbers. It won't be as common at low levels, but it will happen.

Accuracy scores and the rating estimate from the analyser don't really take the difficulty of the position into account, which can lead to inflated scores, particularly in long endgames and games decided by an early blunder. However, considering the difficulty of the position is very important for cheat detection.
