Cheating Data - Comparison Model

I have completed work on my model to the point where I would like to share it with you both. Do either of you know whether I can attach an Excel spreadsheet to a Forum Topic in chess.com?

If not, how about if we set up a DropBox?

What do you mean by attach? The best way to test that is probably to try with a simple & small one first? If that works, delete it & paste in the full one.

Hi Stephens

It's a pretty small file anyway, but I can't find any way to insert a file and there is nothing in the help.

If you are happy to share your email addresses then send me an email to joe@prolinguists.com and I will send the files by email. Any other suggestions?

Cheers

Joe

O/k, I've e-mailed you.

stephen_33. Did you get my email?

Avatar of stephen_33

Yes thanks but I'm not able to open either file. I don't have Office or Excel & I don't know of any other way.

Could you take a screenshot & post that?

OK, Shame though, because it's an interactive model where you can play around with the data yourself. I'll see what I can figure out over the weekend.

I sent you an email. I'm not sure I'll be able to open it either but I can try.

I don't have Excel or Office but I do have gmail and google showed several ways to open it, including with Google Spreadsheets.

[Edit: I had a link here to the address it took me to, but then I logged out of gmail and it wanted me to log in before allowing me to see it. I did see a way to make it public from google spreadsheets, but there would be a chance others could then see it... Want me to do this and post the link here or try to keep it more private?]

[Edit #2: There's a way to share it by email and keep it private, I think. But I'd need Stephen's email]

[Edit #3: Using the "share" button on the google spreadsheet I sent it to Joe's email. He can then share it with stephen_33. (If Joe already has gmail I didn't need to do this but whatever...).]

I haven't had time to read the explanation but will plan to do so later. Thanks for your work, Joe.

It's an interactive model and I have a feeling that some of the functionality will be lost if not viewed in Excel. I'm thinking of conditional formatting. Probably the easiest thing will be if I make a view images showing what I have done and if either of you are curious to see other comparisons I can easily post some more images. There's probably a way to convert the whole thing to html, but I'd be a bit out of my depth with that! I'll see what I can do tomorrow,

Sorry I can't be of more help but I don't have a way of opening '.doc' files. I don't have a g-mail account so that wouldn't work either.
