Chess as Anti Boredom

Not all have a challenging, enjoyable job. Most don't. Work is boring, regularly watching the time if it's time to leave. And traveling to home is stressful, traffic jams. At home, I rarely watch TV as the news are usually bad news, movies already replayed. Variety shows and TV series are something we watch before. Only with new stars. Chess is great game as it stimulates the mind. And there is thrill. A very close game, where whose nerves is better. And chess can be enjoyed without betting, unlike card games.

OTB tournaments even are better. Depending on location, some have more events. While in my present location... Zero. Online chess is next best. Play anytime! Even at work, just don't get caught

I quit my job to play chess.

Early retirement is not so bad. The boredom must be unbearable.

I prefer to make love but I haven't find love. The next best thing is play chess, while listening to my favorite music.

I know the bongcloud attack. Lifestyle, no idea.

The name is a reference to the cloud produced by a bong, an act regularly performed by players who adopt such openings.

I like the OP, but I do disagree that card games cannot be enjoyed without gambling. 

Personally I have used chess as anti boredom for years. I wish I knew more people that wanted to play OTB, but I do enjoy playing here.

I'm unmarried. All friends and adult family members are married. 

I'm used to solitary activities like hiking, reading, etc. I even watch movies, go bowling alone.
