Every time the site is having problems I just go to the "other" chess site. I'm getting used to being on the "other" chess site. Chess.com needs to fix the situation before I forget why I am paying for this chess.com...
Overcapacity is definitely annoying at times when I want to log on and play right then and there, but it's fantastic to see that chess is so popular right now even the biggest chess site in the world can't keep up with demand. I think it's on us to be ok with that while they sort out server limitations, as it's always a net gain when new players gain interest. It'll all be ok!

For those who don't know, you can bypass maximum capacity by going to home and then clicking play in what ever time mode you last played to gain access to play live feature...
i havent had any problem if im playing on my account but this week i was playing chess on another computer. i forgot my password so was playing as a guest. i logged on and tried to play a game and it took me to like a global game list
Just gotta wait a while
