Fellow CHOCOLATE Members,

This Forum on Chess Education is a new feature on CHOCOLATE II that I have had in the works backstage for sometime and am now finally ready to launch.  In time I will post videos on different aspects of the game, such as openings and endings, plus any other topics of interest that I hear about.

We'll start off here with an easy Chess Problem.

Here is the position in a Blitz Game on Live Chess that I won as Black.   See if you can find the correct winning combination.  It's easy, but requires a bit of careful planning.

Thanks!   Soon we have to get started on other more sophisticated topics.  Videos to follow.

Hey fellow Chocolate lovers,

Time now for the second chess problem:

Here I'll give you a clue: The first two first moves should be obvious, but it's the third that represents the real mastery of the position.

And the answer to the first problem: Black wins with ... Bxf3! since after gxf3 Qxh3 Black gets a winning attack.

Good luck!

Hey fellow Chocolate lovers,

The answer to the Second Chess Problem (answered correctly by aristarcos on NESA Memorial Chess Club) is that White wins quickly with Ne7+ Kf8; Bxe8 Kxe8; fxg7!! forcing a P to Q.  White won by deflecting Black's K away from the promotion square.

Here now is the Third Chess Problem based on a game sent to me by a Pawn Sacrifice fellow Team Member.   The task here is to identify the wrong move Black made, the way White punished it, and the move Black should have made instead.

If you have an answer, write it here on the Forum, but you may also want to put it on the Group Notes so that I see it faster.

      Good luck!

Hey fellow Chocolate lovers,

Looks like the chocolate is keeping everyone away from puzzle-solving.  Two other groups nailed the last puzzle.  Black snaps up the b2 P with his hapless R and walks into a fork from Queen-side castling of all things!

Let's see if you do any better with this puzzle, from one of my Correspondence games.  You should be able to see the opening tactic easily enough, but it's following through to get a quick decisive win that will take some deciphering.

Good luck!
