Closing of chess season at DD

According to the tradition, chess club DD closes the season on Saturday, July 18th, with a rapid match "Old DD vs. Young DD". Friends of the club and guests are welcome to join.

"Chess at the coast"

Saturday August 15th the The Hague Chess Club HSV will be organising a rapid tournament (7 rounds with 20 minutes each player) in a pub directly at the Scheveningen beach. After the tournament, the yearly firework festival will take place.

Keizer-competition at DD

Chess club DD starts the saison 2015-16 on August, 18th, with the first round of the "Keizer-competition". Games of 90 min per person (+30 sec per move) will be played between players of roughly equal strength. Guests are welcome.

Opening of season at HSV

Chess club HSV opens its season with a rapid toernament on Monday, August 25th.

Druivenschaak Tournament in 's Gravenzande

The Druivenschaak Tournament close to The Hague is played in three evenings (28th, 31st of August, 4th of September): long games in groeps of 4 players of roughly equal strength.

Chess Lessons by IM Jop Delemarre

IM Jop Delemarre offers a chess course, which will take place on 10 Thursday evenings (approximately one per month, starting October 1st) in the Nationaal Schaakgebouw. The level of the lessons will be variably adjusted to the chess background of the audience. This comes with a price tag, 125 Euro, but for that amount you get really decent content.

KNSB competition

The national team chess competition (KNSB) starts next Saturday (26 september). Most The Hague teams play away games, but there will be live team games to be followed in Delft and Rijswijk. See the list of all matches of teams from the The Hague region on the HSB website:

National championship company teams

On Saturday, October 3th, the national championship for company teams will take place in the Haagse Hogeschool (close to station HS). I've spotted at least three grandmasters in the list of participants.

Second round of KNSB competition

On Saturday, October 10th, the second round of the national team competition takes place. Two The Hague clubs play home games: DD vs. Purmerend in class 1B and Schaakhuis vs. Krimpen in class 3F.

Training with GM John van der Wiel at DD

In the afternoon of Saturday, oktober 31st, GM John van der Wiel will hold a training session at chess club DD. Guests are welcome.

Fourth round of KNSB competition

On saturday, December 12, the Nationaal Schaakgebouw, home of club DD, is the place to be for live chess. The first team of DD will be playing Delft, the second team Rijswijk. Two interesting derbys of the The Hague Chess Association. Finally, Schaakhuis is playing LSG 4.

Seventh round of KNSB competition

The next round of the Dutch team competition is on Saturday, March 19th. It features the The Hague derby Schaakhuis vs. DD 2. Rijswijk is also playing a home match against De Pion 2.

Haagse Rapid Cyclus

The coming months, a series of one-day rapid chess events will take place in The Hague. The first tournament in this series is the open rapid championship of the club Haeghe Ooievaar next Saturday (April 16th).

The open rapid championship of chess club DD is the third leg (of four) of the Rapid Cycle The Hague. It will take place on Saturday, 21st of May in the Nationaal Schaakgebouw. Tournament information can be found here:

Haags Weekendtoernooi

In the weekend of November 18th-20th, the The Hague Weekend Tournament will take place. It consists of six rounds (one on Friday, three on Saturday, two on Sunday).
