Yes Cedrik you make a good point. For some people winning is very very important.

I want to win, but since I am 60 years old and I know that many are stronger players, winning a chess game is not the most important thing in my life. So yes, maybe I should have tried harder. 

Rocky, I am 72 and my practical chess goes down every year, but fortunately not online chess.
