Here is the Desciption about Chess Olympics.
The chess olympics are basicly just like the olympics, held right here on chess.com! Different chess.com teams will replace the countries, to compete in a Team Match tournament. For the group events there are only a few things you should know. If you are interested in reading more please continue on in this message OR check the link:
If you wish to enter your team in any of the events that involve teams (#1-4) please reply to this message and specify which (remember join as many as you wish.). Then please join this team:In order to keep track of things. Please note that anyone playing in the games is advised to join and an admin/ SA from your group MUST join as well to keep up with things. We are starting the group sign up ASAP for different events so please be aware. If you wish to join a certain section in an event you need to specify this with me too.
If you think this team will not be ready, or you don’t want to enter this team then you can always feel free to nominate your own team of 300 members or more just reply to this message with the new team and the events you are joining. Also please note we can only accept between 10 - 20 teams (but we may accept more if needed) So hurry up, submit your teams, ask your teams, do what you have to and sign up ASAP.

There will be a Team Match Tournament. This will not be just any team match but a special tournament to go along with it. There will be a list of different teams that join and each team will be split into a division (based on teams average rating) and paired one round at a time. This tournament will be an elimination eventso remember to play hard! From there each team will fight to the top until only 2 remain.
Here is what the match will look like: Match Name: Chess Olympics: ____ vs. ___ round_____
days per move: 3
Rating: UNDER 1200, UNDER 1600, & OPEN (Please note your team can enter all, 2 or 1 of the sections if they want)
Minimum games: 1 or 2
Players per Team: 10-25ish
Concurrent Games: 1
Auto Start: no (Olympic officials decide when to start)
Rated: Yes
2. There will be a VC tournament With a 2-3 day/ vote time limit. This will also be based on teams average rating. (Please note that this event may or may not happen depending on if there are enough sign ups)
3. There will be an optional Chess960 team match to enter as well. Any team can enter this tournament AND the standard or just one. The settings will be the same as above.
4. Tactic Battle: This event will test your teams knowledge of tactics. There will be a forum post with questions and your team must answer them.
please note: All events above are optional to participate in. Entering your team means you want to join 1 or more of the above.
THE FOLLOWING DOES NOT INCLUDE TEAMS. INDIVIDUAL GAMES:
5. There will also be an individual member tournament. This will be a tournament made by the olympic officials. (Please note that NON-PAYING MEMBERS can only join 1 of these at a time.)
The settings will be as follows:
Up to 100 people can join.
The group size will be 5-10 people (depending on how many people enter each section)
2 -3 advances per round (depending on how many people enter each section)
Time control: 3 days/ move
It will be Rated and Tie breakers will be used
There will be 3 different sections they include:
UNDER 1200
UNDER 1600
OPEN
6. There will be a chess960 individual tournament with the same settings above too.
7. A live Chess Blitz tournament. We will post the pairings and pair you with someone else to play either 1 OR best 2 of 3 blitz game. Then you will report the results. You must find time to play the game. (5 minutes or 10 Minutes (players can agree) Rated or unrated.
8. A possible Live Chess bullet tournament may also take place This will be best 2 of 3. (1 minute) Rated or unrated.
9. Instead of the team VC tournament there may be a large vote chess game. We will split people up into 2 groups and they will join the group they are put in. They will play in a VC game against the other group and when that is done we will take the winners and then split them up and so on until we have 5 vs. 5.
OTHER ITEMS:
To bring togeter different people and teams one BIG VOTE CHESS game will be played (this will be about a 3, 5, or 7 day game (TBD). It will be everyone on that team VS The Chess Computer (type not decided yet, but hopefully it will be HARD!!
Then there will be FREE game analysis to anyone after the TM, or member tournament (normal or 960) -details on that later
VC games will be analyzed immediately after.
Trophies will be given to winning players and team members. (other prizes TBD)
