Adelaide would like to claim victory for this match.  Izmir hasn’t reached the minimum.

Started a few minutes ago.  A day late.  Can we claim victory please.  I didn’t think matches could do that.  Start late.

It is currently 5.41 pm in Adelaide South Australia

@Kookaburrra: I would appreciate if you use rule below as Team Izmir was able to place the 8th player at the end (although few hours late). This competition is played in a friendly manner and should give more interesting games with more fun for chess players, which unnecessary forfeits will not give.

If you really want to win for any case and insist on the forfeit, then I will forfeit the game once I have time to review the round start.

  • A forfeit loss can be overruled if both teams agree to start the match with the required number of players later. A delayed match start may not be later than the start of the following round.

I haven’t heard anything from them.  There was no negotiation.   Still haven’t heard anything.  I just got messaged from one of Adelaide members.  As I told the club we’d applied for a forfeit win this morning.

And they wanted to know what had happened.

That is different to the admin contacting us and being friendly and asking to start it late.

Kookaburrra

So wouldn’t mind hearing from Izmir and an explanation.

Kookaburrra

Haven’t heard anything and will give 3 days from the original start date to hear an explanation before Adelaide will ask to claim victory.     That’s 2 more days.

If we hear an explanation in the interim I will take the explanation back to our members for a decision.   It’s not my decision.

Every month we have these matches starting at 1.30am or some extremely difficult time for Australians (depending on summer or winter) and we were told this can’t be changed or randomised or rotated and we can’t start matches late.    Now we are being asked to allow a late start time.  But in the interests of a friendly league I will take back any explanations to the club members for a decision.    And I can’t say what that will be.   I am just the messenger.

Have not heard anything.

I wrote to their admin 2 days ago with no feedback yet, so I have additionally forfeited game Adelaide-Izmir 1:f

Kookaburrra

Thanks.

Was just going to say I haven’t heard anything.

Bucharest does not respond to our call, wrote their admins, also did not answer.

Bucharest accepted Almaty's challenged.

In weekends it is common here to have some days off.
