I would love to know aswell :)
Chess960

Actually I think that the big thing about 960 is that you can't predict where your pieces are. Duh, right. So, in my opinion because the game is so unpredictable the bishops and the queen are the real power pieces in most 960 games. So, of course I try to open them up at the beginning of the game for maximum affect. I hope that is some what helpful.

I imagine that the goal of the beginning game is still to control the center of the board. That is what I have a tough time with. Since there is no set lineup I have a tough time calculating how to open the game. I often feel like I fumble over my own pieces. It's really a challenge.

perhaps the easiest way to resolve Chess960 is to have a mini tournament amongst ourselves and that way we would have some idea how to play it. Recently played an unknown(international) and with their rating (1900) it would seem that they keep the secrets to themselves.
Lets have a vote on a tournament (unrated) amongst ourselves to find out!?

I'll start an unrated tourny for our group and we can learn together. I need to finish up one of the tournys that I am in though before I start another one. I'll send a group invite and post more info here as soon as I am able to start a new one.

Here is a link to our first Carmel Chess 960 tourney. The tournament is unrated so feel free to join without getting your rating punished.

Anyone have any thoughts on Chess960? I enjoy playing it but I haven't quite figured it out yet. Anyone have some strategy tips?
