Hi all, just got this in my email this morning. Have used Chessity before, good material.
School closure? Learn chess for free with Chessity
With the widespread closure of schools due to the coronavirus, Chessity temporarily opens up their family accounts free of charge for three weeks.
Chess is fun, educational and super beneficial for child development. With Chessity your child builds future skills in a playful way. Chessity is used by over 1.750 schools.
Now that more and more schools are closing, Chessity wants to give as many children as possible the chance to learn chess at home. That is why the popular Diploma Challenge is available free of charge for families until 6 April. In this way we try to do our bit in this difficult and pretty overwhelming time.
In three weeks time, your children will learn chess, play online kids' tournaments, and they can even get a real chess diploma!
I run a chess club. I want my kids to be able to play chess against each other on Monday evening from the safety of their own homes. I would rather use chesskid if I can, but I don't know whether I can arrange it for them to play each other for free, or whether the parents would need to pay out a lot of money for chess kid membership. I don't want to exclude anyone because they can't afford. And I don't want to go chessity if it's just a 3 week free trial and I have to rearrange everything in 3 weeks time. I don't want to go chess.com because it's not a site that's aimed at kids. Anyone know if chess kid allows my kids to play each other without paying?
Hi David. Chesskid does allow kids to play each other free. For them to find each other, they need to be a part of the same online club at chesskid.com, and be able to recognize each other's names. You can set all that up with a Coach account.
