Yesssss sirrrrrr

JohnNapierSanDiego

How about we clean up chess.com by not making stupid posts like this one?

Ammerbucher

Report them, if you feel so, but do not name and shame publicly. That's against the TOS (no matter what you hold against that person).

@Ammerbucher Poor character deserves to be shamed.  Although if it's against community policy, I'd thank you to show me how you know that, because I couldn't find it anywhere.  Also @johnhnapier it's not a stupid post.  It's an idea with a distinct social agenda not unique to myself.  I personally think we need more of this, and you likely find it "stupid" because it isn't about you, although cynicism from one such as yourself doesn't surprise me.  It is possible you have proven my point.  @Bad926 I should've taken a screen shot really early, but no.  Sorry.  I was going to find the game and take the picture but unfortunately I can't now.  It was on my ipad and before I could he left the chat and it didn't let me see it again, because he wasn't available for chat, or some garbage like that.

BlissieBearrie

I understand : )     I agree with you completely.    I've been treated by those like that!    You have my support : )

If @johnhnapier thinks it's a "stupid post", then it leads one to think that he must have the same kind of attitude towards others.

Good luck to you and your endeavor on that, Dane : )

You need to post screenshots as proof.

Please just open your eyes ... You will find the TOS also here where you usually find them.

Both of my eyes are open.  Don't be rude; I didn't do that to you.  And you misunderstood.  All I wanted was a highlight where it said that; I found the TOS by myself, thank you.  I already read the TOS community policy and everything, and nope.  Nothing.  The fact is that you don't know, and you probably think you know that because of hearsay.  You couldn't even take the time to prove it, so unless you show me, it's an opinion.  Spare me from your posts if you can't help.

Sorry, English is not my native language. Saying "please" is not rude for me, but I may be wrong.

Had you asked so specifically at once, I could have answered specifically. (But it looked to me previously like you just did not want to waste your time, so I did not want to waste mine either.)

This is the sentence that applies here, as far as I understand it.

  • Do not abuse, attack, threaten, discriminate, or mistreat other members in any way.

But feel free to ask a moderator or staff about that.

G30rg3C05tanza

I wasn't alluding to "please,"...never mind forget it.  The important thing is the sentence you sent me is one that I glossed over, because it's incredibly vague and doesn't seem to apply to the subject at hand in any way.  Abuse, attack, threaten, discriminate, mistreat...I uncheck all.  Thanks for trying to help, though!

Ammerbucher

You're weclome. It is vague as rules usually are, but it is common knowledge what it means. Just ask a staff member or a mod. Accusing someone of abusive behaviour (if rightfully so or not) can be subsumed under "attacking" (in the form of "naming and shaming"). Doing that publicly may earn a muting for yourself. Seen that often enough already. If you think someone is abusive, do NOT start a public forum, calling out his name, but do a report. And if you want to show you have understood that, best delete that name in your OP here.

Okay I trust your judgment.  It's a little disappointing, though.  Endowing the community with the right to petition the removal of such people who don't deserve it is an idea I strongly agree with.

Ammerbucher

Well, it is very simple: Just report, and maybe - contact in private (!) some people who (may) have made the same experience, and motivate them to report that member as well. That's it. And then just wait. That's how it works properly. (I must admit I am a bit surprised that so far no official had chimed in here, to be honest ...)

You're right. Shame on you.

G30rg3C05tanza

@VVeldon, would you like to elaborate your point?  Tell me exactly how my character is poor.  Was I out of line at all?  Did I swear, smear, or cyberbully anyone ever anywhere?  I think not.  This is an unfounded, ridiculous statement and not a zinger.  Also if you were trying to make an attempt at humor, I apologize I don't find you very funny.

he quoted you. he quoted daneKnoch, you. and said you are right. then he said shame on you thinking the offensive man is reading his comment right now. he didn't literally mean you are shameful.

Swisspizza28
