Ok-- My selfish request is anti-Marshall for white. Or Scotch game (in case I'm playing blitz vs someone I know plays the Marshall). But I know main line Ruy Lopez is currently out of favor so maybe the d3 Ruy for white.

More generally, for openings, I'd like to know

where the pieces go,

what are the key positions to remember (so if I forget move order I know to aim for the position and figure out the moves)

what are the thematic tactics in the resulting MGs,

what are the plans for both sides in the MGs,

thematic EGs that result.

More blitz tournaments and more end-game studies!

Hello! Everything sounds very good!

SwimmerBill

I'd love to play in a blitz tournament. But I have many duties -- all I can do is check the time and occasionally I am free to play. Please schedule some and I'll always check and play if I can. I really have enjoyed vote-chess games with another club. In OTB games I've always learned a lot from analysis with my opponent. Vote-chess-game-discussions (for each move) approximate that-- and all the time I need is enough to analyze 1 move every 6=3+3 days. - Bill

By the way, I also am interested in people's idea about how to organize your time to study and play including how to organize your opening files, how to organize study of endgames, reviews of good books, (and funny reviews of bad books) ...
