Maybe I'm not as observant because I'm still getting used to blitz again, but good day.

Blitz seems so hard after the rapid week and analyzing master games, and I don't know why, but hey, 1000 blitz blitz.png

Wow, now I suck at blitz. How dissapointing.

Not enjoying this blitz week too much, but that's how it is sometimes.

I suspect I must stop playing blitz. After the plan is over, I'll substitute many blitz weeks for rapid or slow weeks. It cannot be good for my chess to blunder pieces every game, I think need to train slowly if I want to keep improving..

Hope you guys don't mind if I keep posting here, it makes me feel accountable (and by now it's a hard habit).

  • Puzzles: thumbup.png (PR Survival: 36, new record!)
  • Game:
    • https://www.chess.com/a/bbePzPNNq9rE (win)
      • Found a sequence that gave me an advantage after accidentally "trapping my bishop"
      • Kept fighting while down an exchange and turned the game around ("Passed pawns must be pushed")
      • Miscalculated a winning sequence and lost an exchange
        • Must take my time in critical positiions and not play too fast.

      • From looking at my mistakes I realize often I justify decisions by "handwaving" a solution to a problem. E.g. in this game I justified 8. Nd5?? thinking 'Oh, if ...Qxb2 I'll just play Qc1 or something' and I failed to see how that could've been a huge problem because I didn't try to visualize the whole thing. I must justify moves that are at least a little bit risky with calculation.

  • Puzzles: thumbup.png (kinda iffy; I've noticed the healthier I eat the better I do at puzzles, so gotta keep that in mind)

      • Good opening.
      • First time ever I give a Légal mate in a real game! Pretty proud of that find, I honestly thought they only appeared in books and that I'd never get to give one 😆

What kind of diet do you prefer for chess?
